Can Urestone panels be installed on concrete?
Yes. URESTONE faux stone, faux brick, and faux wood panels can be installed on concrete, CMU block, brick, and stucco. Use a high-quality construction adhesive across the full back of the panel and secure mechanically with masonry screws such as Tapcons at the perimeter and through field locations. Finish by concealing screw heads with color-matched caulk and touch-up paint for a seamless look.
Details
-
Surface prep: remove dust, efflorescence, loose paint, sealers, and oils. Fill large voids. Grind down high spots so panels sit flat without rocking
-
Adhesive: use polyurethane or premium construction adhesive compatible with polyurethane panels and masonry. Apply full-coverage S-curves or beads to minimize hollow spots and improve long-term bond
-
Mechanical fasteners: use Tapcon-type masonry screws or equivalent. Pre-drill pilot holes with a masonry bit and drive fasteners snug, not over-tight. Space fasteners per product guidance around edges and in the field
-
Moisture considerations: exterior concrete can hold moisture. Seal penetrations, integrate proper flashing at terminations, and maintain expansion gaps where specified
-
Uneven walls: if the surface is out of plane, or for easier installation, fur out with furring strips or install a layer of cement board to create a flat substrate, then adhere and screw panels to the new surface
-
Temperature and cure: observe adhesive temperature ranges and cure times. Support panels until initial set when installing on very smooth or vertical surfaces
-
Finishing: hide fasteners with color-matched caulk. Use touch-up paint and blending techniques to keep the stacked stone or brick pattern continuous
-
Accessories: keyless corners, narrow corners, end caps, and trim improve seam alignment on long concrete runs such as foundations and retaining walls
