A starter strip is not required. URESTONE faux stone, faux brick, and faux wood panels can start at grade and may touch the ground at installation. They are commonly used for house skirting, retaining wall accents, pool surrounds, and other ground-contact applications.

• At-grade install: begin your first course level at grade without a starter strip

• Ground contact: panels, corners, and end caps may touch soil, concrete, pavers, or pool decks

• Adhesive and screws: use construction adhesive plus corrosion-resistant screws; increase fastener frequency in high-traffic zones

• Seams and penetrations: seal all joints and fastener heads with a compatible sealant; blend with a color-matched touch-up kit
  

• Substrates: concrete, CMU, cement board, prepared metal, or wood sheathing; ensure a flat, clean, structurally sound surface

• Durability: panels resist insects, mildew, mold, and moisture; the finish is UV-stable and weather resistant

• Curves and steps: trim neatly around steps, posts, and curves; use keyless corners, narrow corners, and end caps for clean terminations

• Cleaning: rinse with water; use mild soap and a soft brush for dirt or pool residue
